One of our fantastic osteopaths, Dr Annabelle Balharry, has been learning Auslan. In the process of obtaining her Level 1 Auslan, Annabelle has put together a short piece introducing herself to our deaf/hard of hearing community in Melbourne. Watch our video of Annabelle’s introduction below.

Hi there, I’m Annabelle. I am an osteopath and I’m learning Auslan. If you are deaf, hard of hearing, and/or use sign to communicate – and need an osteopath – maybe I can help you. I may not be a replacement for an interpreter just yet, but my basic conversational skills are coming along and I just wanted to let you know that I am here and happy to help if you need. I started learning Auslan from two of my great friends, through their fantastic short course ‘Magic Hands’, which I highly recommend to all! It’s a great, supportive, relaxed and fun environment to learn Auslan, as well as its history and culture.
