About

Leonie Farrugia is a dedicated Level 2 Counsellor, proudly registered with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). With nearly 30 years of experience in the field of education, Leonie has taught students aged 10 to 19 and has provided invaluable support through an Employee Assistance Program(EAP), offering counselling services to a diverse range of clients with work or personal related concerns.

Leonie is passionate about working with young people and adults dealing with chronic illnesses, focusing on helping her clients manage their conditions more effectively by addressing the mental health impacts these illnesses can have on their daily lives. With personal experience of living with Type 1 Diabetes for 50 years and Coeliac Disease for 13 years, Leonie possesses a profound understanding of the complexities and challenges that come with chronic illness. Her personal experiences fuel her commitment to aiding others in navigating their journeys towards better mental and physical health.

 

Cost

$150 per session (50 minutes).

Medicare rebate is NOT available.

  • Children/students (University with a student card),  $80.00 per session.
  • Provision of a Mental Health Plan by a GP – $80.00 per session (usually 6 in total). This amount is just below the standard gap for psychologists and psychiatrists (usually $90-160.00).  
  • A client who is a member of BUPA, may be eligible for a deduction according to their level of cover. My Health Funds number should now be in the accounting system.
