Eligibility for MyMedicare: Patients holding a valid Medicare Card or Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Veteran Card who have had two face-to-face consultations with a GP at our clinic within the last 24 months are eligible to register. Registrations opened from 1 October 2023.

Registration FAQs

Is there a cost to register?

No, MyMedicare registration is completely free and entirely optional.

How will MyMedicare benefit me?

The core objective of MyMedicare is to foster a stronger, more enduring relationship between you, your doctor, and our clinic. Consistently visiting the same practice and seeing the same GPs for your medical needs allows your chosen doctor to provide more informed, ongoing, and personalised care. While you retain the flexibility to visit other clinics, registering with us ensures you receive exclusive additional benefits at your designated ‘home clinic’.

To choose Premier Health Partners as your ‘home clinic’, you’ll need to register with MyMedicare, select our medical centre, and nominate your preferred GP. We warmly invite all our current and past patients to formalise their connection with us through MyMedicare.

Key benefits for registered patients include:

Extended MBS-funded Telehealth Consultations: All registered patients gain access to longer Medicare-subsidised telephone consultations (Levels C & D) with GPs at Premier Health Partners. This facilitates more in-depth discussions (exceeding 20 minutes) about your health concerns, with Medicare providing a greater rebate to make these essential longer calls more affordable – exclusively at your registered home clinic.

Enhanced Bulk Billing Incentives (from 1 November 2023): The Australian Government has introduced a ‘Triple Bulk Billing’ incentive. This measure aims to further subsidise healthcare costs when GPs bulk bill children aged 15 and under, pensioners, and concession card holders. This incentive may also apply to longer MBS telehealth consultations (Levels C, D, and E) with your GP at your registered home clinic.

These initial advantages for registered patients are just the beginning, with further expansions of benefits anticipated from the Australian Government over time. Registering Premier Health Partners as your preferred ‘home clinic’ is a proactive step towards optimising your healthcare.

Do I need to register?

No, registration is voluntary. However, by not registering, you would forgo the opportunity to receive these valuable extra Medicare benefits specifically tied to choosing Premier Health Partners as your preferred ‘home clinic’.

When did registrations open, and is there a deadline?

Patient registrations for MyMedicare commenced on 1 October 2023. There is no closing date or deadline to register.

Can I register with more than one clinic?

No, MyMedicare is designed to enhance the singular relationship you have with your primary medical centre and doctor. Children are exempt from the requirement of having two prior face-to-face GP visits within 24 months.

Do I need to register children?

Registration is optional for all patients, including children. If you wish for your children to receive the MyMedicare benefits, each child will need to be registered with MyMedicare, and you will select their preferred clinic and GP.

  • For children under 14 years, a parent or guardian must complete the registration and provide consent. This must be done in person at the practice via a paper form.
  • Young people aged 14 to 17 years can register and provide consent independently. If a parent or guardian registers a minor in this age group, the minor will need to confirm their informed consent.
Am I “locked in” once I register with a clinic?

Not at all. You are always free to visit any medical centre or doctor you choose. However, the additional MyMedicare benefits will only apply at your designated ‘home’ clinic. If your circumstances change, you can also easily unregister from a clinic at any time.
